Studio Woodworkers Australia Symposium – Terms and Conditions
- Registration and Payment
- All registrations must be completed through the official event website at [https://studiowoodworkers.org.au/symposium-2025/]
- Payment must be made in full at the time of registration.
- Your place at the symposium is confirmed once payment is received in full and you have received a confirmation email.
- Cancellation by Attendees
- All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email to: chair@studiowoodworkers.org.au
- Where we receive a cancellation request more than 14 days before the event, the requester will be eligible for a full refund, minus a $25 processing fee.
- Where we receive a cancellation request 14 days or less prior to the event, the requester will not be eligible for a refund.
- Non-attendance/no-shows will not receive a refund.
- Substitutions
- If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your ticket to another person by submitting a substitution request in accordance with this clause 3.
- Substitution requests must be submitted in writing via email to: chair@studiowoodworkers.org.auat least 2 business days before the symposium and must include the new attendee’s full name and contact details.
- Event Changes or Cancellation by Organisers
- Studio Woodworkers Australia reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, or alter the symposium program at its discretion.
- In the event of cancellation or rescheduling, all registered attendees will be offered the choice of:
- A full refund of the registration fee; or
- Credit toward a future event.
- The organisers are not liable for any costs incurred by attendees as a result of changes, including but not limited to travel, accommodation, or loss of work time.
- Force Majeure
- The organisers shall not be held liable for failure to deliver the symposium as scheduled due to circumstances beyond the organisers’ reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters;
- Government-imposed restrictions; and
- Public health emergencies.
- In such cases, organisers will make all reasonable efforts to communicate with registrants and offer fair alternatives where possible.
- Special Considerations
- We understand that personal emergencies can arise. In exceptional circumstances (such as medical emergencies), refund requests may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Such requests must be made in writing and may require supporting documentation.
- Code of Conduct
- This symposium is a respectful, inclusive space for learning and exchange. All attendees are expected to treat others—participants, organisers, presenters, and venue staff—with courtesy and professionalism.
- Behaviour that disrupts the event or makes others feel unsafe may result in removal from the symposium without refund.
- Photography and Media
- The event may be photographed or recorded for documentation and promotional purposes.
- By attending, you consent to the use of your image and/or voice in related media.
- If you do not wish to appear in such material, please notify the organisers in writing before the event.
- Personal Responsibility and Liability
- Studio Woodworkers Australia and event organisers are not liable for personal injury, loss, or damage to personal property during the event.
- Attendees are responsible for their own personal property and safety throughout the event.
- Privacy
- Any personal information collected during registration will be used solely for event-related purposes and will not be shared with third parties without consent, except where required by law.
