Rhys Jones

Rhys Jones Workshop

Rhys’ practice provides a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to design and collaboration.

Rhys studied wood furniture at the ANU School of Art in Canberra, and completed a Master of Architecture at the University of Melbourne and ETH Zurich. Through his work, Rhys explores the interrelationship between theory and practice, hand and machine, and society and self. He has a fascination with timber chairs and woven surfaces, reflected in his practice as a continued exploration of de novo organic forms and weaving techniques.

He currently works in a Sydney-based architecture firm, is a member of Splinter Workshop, and teaches at Chisel & Dowel Woodworking School.
