David Lim is an accomplished production maker and the founder of Timberbits, a renowned Australian supplier of woodturning tools and supplies.

Specializing in pen and box making, David has crafted over 26,000 pens and thousands of boxes, many of which are sold in wood galleries across Australia and Asia.

Of Oriental heritage, David integrates a blend of traditional and modern designs in his craftsmanship, producing unique, high-quality pieces that reflect his rich cultural background. He sources logs, mills, and air dries the timber he uses in-house before crafting his pieces, ensuring meticulous control over the quality and character of the timber used.

In addition to his production work, David is the head of education at the Wood Academy, where he shares his extensive knowledge and passion for woodworking. He coordinates and teaches various courses, inspiring a new generation of woodworkers. David has also contributed numerous articles to the Australian Wood Review, further establishing himself as a respected authority in the woodworking community.
