The most rewarding experience of being a designer maker is working collaboratively with clients from inception of a design to the finished piece(s) using a range of Australian and imported timbers to suit the particular project with handcrafted attention to detail. I also design and make items for galleries and exhibitions which provides the opportunity to explore new designs and techniques.
After graduating from Sturt School for Wood in 2003, I established a studio in Rozelle and organised two exhibitions for the Woodworkers Association of NSW.
In collaboration with some other designer/makers, we established Studio Woodworkers Australia which has held a number of exhibitions to showcase the work of professional designer/makers and artists in wood.
My studio / workshop is now on the South Coast of NSW where, after being in the workshop all day, I can enjoy the beach and numerous bush walks in the Shoalhaven.
